Apparently people are caught up in a virtual fantasy world of escapism, and are unable to cognitively accept and process truth-reality. A strictly materialist-mechanistic view of reality, and rejection of spiritual explanations and solutions leaves one empty, and without hope. The only alternative then is willful ignorance.
